If we do not also pay attention to the nothingness that accompanies every thought, every feeling and every sensation that the mind conveys to consciousness, there remains only a psychic abyss. Because if we do not simultaneously perceive it, we identify with every mental event as it arises in the dualism where individual opposites to the mental content we identify with, make us feel questioned, rejected and inadequate. No matter how we try to balance ourselves in the confusion that arises from the mental engine that drives us to try to stop our anxiety by constantly adding further opposites to it. This creates a feedback loop that feeds of itself with its own opposites in an endless recursion. The inadequacy and rejection this creates constantly activate the recursive scenarios whose script is what controls our lives. When consciousness does not perceive nothingness, a lack of, or experience of incompleteness arises. It is the absence of emptiness that generates our mental recursion. Although without emptiness we are not capable of perceiving any thought or feeling whatsoever if they were not also accompanied by it. Where else would they appear. This mental circulation in turn provokes hopelessness and suffering. Something that is deeply misunderstood today, and is lost in the identification with the opposites they try to resolve by identifying with more and more new opposites. Which only contributes to our confusion and increases the stress that these opposites create in conflict with our mental content. The emptiness that accompanies our mental activity is not without content. It is the absolute basis and the stage our mental activity encounters. It is against that that we see through our masks and the strategies we use to try to circumvent our conditioning and recursive feedback loops. At the same time, it conveys the authenticity that decompresses the pressure from our anxious mind and gives it the stillness and calm attention we need so that we can absorb the insight that arises in it as a distant echo. Which dissolves the mental feedback loops that have, in an overlapping manner and over several lifetimes, formulated our actions through the image patterns they are the source of and that control how we react to our mental activity. We usually imagine that we read the thoughts of others. But we read their emptiness, their relationship to the ground. How they relate to and react to their encounters with what arises there, before it falls through it, dissolves and disappears again. It is the fundamental mental reality we share with every living being. It is the universe in its entirety that is reflected in this emptiness in everything, from a single cell, to plants, humans, insects and animals. It contains all of existence and the potentiality that causes everything to emerge. But don´t take my word for it. Find your place for this distraction-free space. its quiet, still awareness and experience it for yourself.
