The Sami have for some time seen that it is the daughters who whole heartedly continue with their way of life and the reindeer husbandry, that it is no longer a given that the sons should be and do as it always has been. That something else have been intervening in their path for some time, and it makes them look in the direction from which an interaction can take place with what is being formulated there, which is also shared by all people. There is no confusion in this. They do not pressure anyone to do anything. They listen to the sense that there is another order behind everything. And that is what it is. It’s not about gender issues, not about masculinity or what is feminine. Just about what is. I like that way of looking at things very much.
I have also found another way to put it. In a sense it is even more about what is, because the world as such is so stripped off off it. Which makes it very difficult to absorb. And if I had not had any experience of what is described here in extremely abstract terms, I would not even grasp what is being said. Experiences are really difficult to translate into words without them becoming stereotypical or scientificated. I understand what he’s referring to but not what he’s saying. Here it it is.

We are all the same if this unconscious material is not reflected back from our consciousness in the physical world. We mysteriously emerge from this pre-conscious whole, and in its undifferentiated field of forms were are all natural elements where each may transform into the existence of the other and change presence from its bodiless psychic substance. I think every child knows what I am talking about.
