We all do some self-scanning of ourselves from time to time. Most often when we are not feeling well and trying to identify and observe different symptoms. When we are feeling alright, we may still do it for reasons where we feel rejected or constantly insufficient. Other times, because of what may have flown in us of sensations or of emotions that come and go seemingly out of nowhere. Or because of a state we happen to be in. We may do it because we have started to oscillate between something in our background that we like or dislike. If we like it, we may want to hold on to it and transform it into something that we can own as a psychic asset within us in the future as well. We are full of events that occur within us but are beyond our control. We tend to get absorbed in them so that they shape our interior and condition our actions. But there is another relationship with them that we can have if we meditate on them. In the sense that we not only observe them, but also let them be and then let them pass when they have formulated their content for us. If we then try to maintain our focus, we enter an interpersonal space between us and ourselves. Something that we share with everyone else. We open ourselves to the whole that we have skipped over in our constant oscillation between what has been and our attempts to recreate it as something desirable in our future. We cloud our present with all our attempts to transform and redo. But underneath the constant personal stream of old events that we try to recreate into something more permanent that we can relate to in the future, there is still another dormant deeper flow beneath this. After we have scanned our bodies, our feelings, our sensations, our mental actions and states of consciousness. Everything just suddenly stops. We stop oscillating between what we held on to from our yesterdays and wanted to keep in our tomorrows. There is only a sense of coherence, of togetherness. A whole. We realize that all this is not something we can control. That all that has been is impermanent. It is only there based on how it psychically shaped our experiences. Dormant, present and only activated when we were capable and ready to receive it. Then it suddenly appears as exactly what we need to hear, right know, and which gives us the insight we need at that precise moment. The constant disruptive flow and chaos stops momentarily. No matter how things once were. It feels like everything falls into place. Before it has caught us in relation to cognitive events and affected them so that they have changed from within this inherent natural authenticity. The personal stream of consciousness steps back and returns when we have been charged with what we needed to hear. This will trigger mental actions that are activated both in the body, in our emotional life, and in our streams of sensations that cause us to end up in a certain state of consciousness. Our self-inspection and meditative observation creates this new awareness as we then regain our inner balance again. We have reconnected and rediscovered the undercurrent that is our and everything’s basic nature. The way this works on us when our usual personal streams of sensations and oscillations between what once was and the tomorrow that we try to recreate from them take a break. The deeper undercurrent that has interrupted us is not only the governing principle in nature, but also the basic elements that create a conscious life. But here is also what makes us disillusioned, what gives us a feeling of reluctance, of mental and physical fatigue. What we mix up and do not separate from our surroundings as something in ourselves of the psychic experiental material of our consciousness and which makes us resigned in our view of the outside world’s constant repetition of the inherent inadequacy and the indulgence it constantly nourishes. We see what most of us do not know about something fundamentally genuine and significant in ourselves whose maturation process is most often transmitted in a watered-down and distorted form through our mental actions in a largely ignorant and psychically immature outside world.
