When we refer to the soul we refer to a quality of the mind. To the spacelike experience of its appearence as conscious awareness. Where mind is the consciousness of the universal ground echoing its self-cognizant content from its encounter with all reality. That is why it becomes confusing when this experience is not done or is undeveloped and merged into opposites of dualistic mental conflicts. Because then consciousness has become intellectualized and viewed as an object. Instead of being a placeless experience and a locationless quality of the mind. That space is what awareness permeates when we are observing its timeless mental reflections as echoes of the enlightened intent and the awakening of the pith instructions of the universal ground. These are not the manufactured products of the intellect, it is what provided the content to it in the first place. Anyone who has had the experience of exclaiming “ah, that’s it!” knows what this echo is. When this is also done in quiescence, without any external distractions, it becomes even more apparent.
