I think that what makes the concept of luonto so difficult to grasp for many is that it is at the same time the personal relationship to what we mean by soul while it is also the relationship to the notion of a world soul. The two are one and yet different when we experience them. One way to approach it is to discover that our experience is in the common imaginary field in which we interact with everything around us. It is where the embodiment takes place that unites us with the nature we share with everything. We experience ourselves in it with our senses, and that it is an ongoing activity that independently of us transforms itself into a another conscious experiencing through our bodies. Without them, we have no way of referring to our surroundings. Our senses remain locked in and exist without being able to convey the experience of being involved in the imaginary as a container for our being together with others. We cannot see ourselves as phenomenologically integrated with our senses in a larger whole. A presence that is strongest in relation to nature.
